Eli Blood-Patterson

Eli Blood-Patterson joined Vera’s Legal Department in the role of assistant general counsel in 2020. Eli supports Vera by providing comprehensive in-house legal services to the organization.

Eli has a background in nonprofit administration, human rights, and international law. Before Vera, Eli served as program manager and research scholar at the U.S.-Asia Law Institute of NYU Law, where he oversaw USALI’s rule of law grant program, including projects on legal ethics, criminal procedure law, and wrongful convictions. Eli previously also served as the Robert L. Bernstein Fellow for international human rights at the New York-based nonprofit, Human Rights in China. Eli received his JD from NYU Law in 2014. He received a BA in English literature from Haverford College, where he graduated magna cum laude.
